December 2nd, Russian concert pianist Sergei Saratovsky has also won acclaim on the world stage. He became a resident of Canada in 2002 and completed his doctoral studies here. Born into a family of musicians, his awards would fill pages including a recent Best Canadian Artist award at the Montreal International Musical Competition! Our new grand piano will get a work out with Saratovsky!
January 27th, 2017, the Remi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble will perform a tribute to Dave Brubeck. Bolduc is one of Canada’s best jazz saxophonist. Breathtaking precision, magnetic stage presence and dazzling virtuosity, energy and spontaneity are his trademarks. He will tour with guest pianist Francois Bourassa.
February 24, 2017, Duo Concertante features Nancy Dahn on violin and Timothy Steeves on piano. Reviews refer to their “artistry, poetry and impeccable technique” and the excitement of “grace and fire… fury and repose”. From Newfoundland, they are doing a cross Canada tour to follow a tour in Europe.
Now is the time to secure your tickets for the coming season.
Tickets for all Concert Series shows are now on sale. Regular prices are $22.50 per event ($90 for the entire season). But if you act now, tickets to the first event, Quartango, may be purchased for only $16.25 until November 10. That reduces the season price to only $83.75 for four great evenings of entertainment.

Coming to the Venables Theatre
Missoula Children’s Theatre and Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School present
ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Take a wondrous trip with Alice, the White Rabbit and a host of others as the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School students present ALICE IN WONDERLAND. This original musical production is part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s unique international touring project.
The story begins with Alice and her older sister Margaret reading together. Margaret becomes frustrated as Alice is curious about absolutely everything. Suddenly, a White Rabbit appears from nowhere. After a quick and nonsensical conversation, Alice follows the rabbit to a strange and wonderful place. In the course of her adventures, Alice meets a band of Flowers, the King and Queen of Hearts, the Knave and the rest of the suit of Cards, a giant Caterpillar, a Fish, a Frog, the Duchess, the Cook, the Cheshire Cat, the Gryphon, the Mock Turtle, a group of singing Lobsters, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, the Dormouse and Humpty Dumpty. Through it all, Alice grows “curiouser and curiouser” as to where she is and even who she is. In the end, the answers she seeks are unimportant. Wonderland is all nonsense, anyway. As the White Rabbit explains, “Nonsense is fun!”. For more information, call Tuc-el-Nuit at (250) 498-3415

Frank Venables Theatre Presents
LORNE ELLIOTT COMEDY SHOW
“I was born so far back I can hardly remember and grew up normally, I think. I started going on stage at a time when hair like mine was fashionable, and I hung a guitar hung around my neck to complete the look. Somewhere around that time people started laughing at me, and I saw no reason why I shouldn’t join them. I’ve made a living off the products of my imagination for thirty years, so if you’re wondering if that’s possible I am here to tell you it is. Give it a whirl. You just might find an audience.”

The show runs from Oct 1 – Dec 19/2016.
Friday Night Live’s “Wine Festival Madness” lands on the eve of the Fall Art Show and Sale and Hester Creek’s Garlic Festival and two days before Festival of the Grape. Lots of great visiting talent here to stomp the grape and kick the music into high gear.
Last time around we had another amazing performance from Stef and Dan Laramie. Richard, Marcel, Neil and Bianca, James, Joe 50 and even me (sorry).
Come kick the doors down with your own vibe this Friday coming. The beer is cold and the music IS of course always sooooo HOT! Marcel Morneau and our crazy talented artists will fill the night. We crank up the music shortly after 7:00. The music is huge…Tons of talent…all we need is you!
We are licensed. We have beer, wine, coffees with a kick and our usual great gelato and snacks, sweet treats and of course…our great host Marcel. Medici’s this Friday Sept 30th at 7:00 PM. 522 Fairview Road. 250-498-2228.
