Volunteers Wanted at the O.C.A.C.!

Mission Statement:
“Art Learned ~ Art Loved ~ Art Lived”
Mandate: To increase the public’s awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the arts by providing public performances, educational seminars, and arts festivals.
Programs and Services:
- providing Oliver arts events: Arts and Culture Week (April), Music in the Park (concert series, July – August), Showcase of Talent (youth music performance, May), Fall Art Show and Sale (October), occasional concerts and coffeehouses
- promoting Oliver arts events: funding, supporting and publicizing the arts and culture events of our 14 member groups.
What Volunteers Do:
- plan, organize, and publicize arts events (e.g. exhibits, concerts) throughout the year
- maintain the Quail’s Nest Arts Centre (renting, cleaning, maintenance, grounds keeping)
- administration of arts council business (executive officers, board, committees)
Volunteer Opportunities:
- serving on arts events committees to plan and run public arts events
- set up, ushering, and take down of arts events
- occasional secretarial duties: photocopying, filing, archiving, data entry
- publicity: newsletter editor, graphic design and ad building, website reporter, website maintenance
- maintenance and grounds keeping of the Quail’s Nest Arts Centre
- serving on the arts council board of directors (annual election in February)
