Art Learned ~ Art Loved ~ Art Lived”

Mandate: To increase the public’s awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the arts by providing public performances, educational seminars, and arts festivals.

Programs and Services:

  • providing Oliver arts events: Arts and Culture Week (April), Music in the Park (concert series, July – August), Showcase of Talent (youth music performance, May), Fall Art Show and Sale (October),  occasional concerts and coffeehouses
  • promoting Oliver arts events: funding, supporting and publicizing the arts and culture events of our 14 member groups.

What Volunteers Do:

  • plan, organize, and publicize arts events (e.g. exhibits, concerts) throughout the year
  • maintain the Quail’s Nest Arts Centre (renting, cleaning, maintenance, grounds keeping)
  • administration of arts council business (executive officers, board, committees)

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • serving on arts events committees to plan and run public arts events
  • set up, ushering, and take down of arts events
  • occasional secretarial duties: photocopying, filing, archiving, data entry
  • publicity: newsletter editor, graphic design and ad building, website reporter, website maintenance
  • maintenance and grounds keeping of the Quail’s Nest Arts Centre
  • serving on the arts council board of directors (annual election in February)
