Arts Council Hosts All-Candidates for School Trustees

Art Learned~Art Loved~Art Lived. That’s the arts council’s mandate in a nutshell. Part of our constitution says we educate the public about the arts – not just adults that tour our exhibits or attend our workshops, but also school-aged children and youth. How can we impact and support arts in the school system?

So it’s a no-brainer that the OCAC is hosting an all-candidates meeting for the upcoming school board election of trustees. The evening will begin with a welcome from the arts council, and one or two questions about arts in schools and art partnerships with the community. Then the floor will open for general questions on all aspects of school trusteeship.  Beverages and refreshments courtesy of the arts council.

Incumbent Tamela Edwards, and new nominees Rob Zandee, Tracy Hunt and Martin Cattermole have all been invited. There are positions for two elected trustees.
