  1. The Friends Of The Oliver Library would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support of our 17th Annual Book Sale. We are pleased to announce that we made $2,275.00. These funds will help support a number of local library initiatives including the Children’s Summer Reading Program, as well as the purchase of newspaper and magazine subscriptions and audiovisual equipment. It is said that: “A library outranks any other one thing a community can do to benefit its people. It is a never failing spring in the desert.” ― Andrew Carnegie. So it is with that quote in mind, that we would like to acknowledge the support we received from the general public for their generous outpouring of book donations, as well as thanking the following organizations for their ongoing support: Oliver-Fairview Self-Storage, Buy-Low Foods, Super-Valu, Oliver Parks and Recreation and the Oliver Community Arts Council. A big thank you for helping us get the word out about our sale goes to: the Merchants of Oliver, Oliver Daily News, Okanagan Falls Daily News, Osoyoos Daily News, The Oliver Chronicle, East Link Community Bulletin Board, Easy Rock Radio and C.B.C. Radio and the Oliver Community Arts Council Creative Minds and Events. Please note that all our left over books and materials were donated at the end of our sale to the “Clothesline,” an outreach program of the Canadian Diabetes Association. Many thanks from your Friends Of The Oliver Library
