What’s summer without Music in the Park?

Jazz, pop, indie, folk, and rock n’ roll all take the spotlight at August’s Music in the Park concerts. Every Thursday from 6:30 – 8:00 on the Riverside Patio of the Oliver Visitor Centre. Bring a chair,  a picnic, and your wallet — for your concert donation, a dessert, or any CDs for sale.

Cindy Doucette‘s sultry, sophisticated voice  takes the lead on Thursday August 2.  This beautiful singer can handle anything: smooth jazz, pop, country… you name it, Cindy can sing it!

Guys with Guitars strum away the evening on August 9. You’ll want to bring some extra cash or your chequebook to pick up some CDs. The Gala Vanters have just produced their first, “On Black Sage Road”,  and it has a lot of local references.  http://www.thegalavanters.com

When’s the full moon this month? Well, the Fully Lunar Band plays as close to the August full moon as you can get!  August 16.  You’ll be sure to enjoy the rock n roll with this great band, and the moonlight!

Keeping with tradition, Music in the Park closes the season with the wonderful sounds of Jazz Out West. Easy listening  jazz standards, sung by the incomparable Iris Larratt, nominated three times for Canadian Juno awards. She’s backed up by several handsome guys who know how to get a jazz groove on.  That’s on Thursday August 23. More about the band here: http://www.jazzoutwest.ca
