Casting Shadows at Fall Art Show & Sale: view, vote, and buy!

The 2012 Fall Art Show and Sale promises to be an art-packed weekend September 29 – 30.  The public is invited to attend the competition, non-competitive exhibits, silent auction, reception,  live demonstrations, and sales of art. On Saturday,  the admission is free. View the show and sale from 3 – 9 pm. Vote from 3 – 8 pm. And schmooze at the  reception from 7 – 9 pm.

On Sunday from 12 – 5, the show and sale can be accessed through the  gates for the Festival of the Grape. Art and wine! What more could you ask for?

Works in seven categories will be entered in the competition, with the theme “Casting Shadows”. The public is invited to view the competitive exhibit and cast their votes for best in each medium (oils, watercolours, photography, fibre arts, three-dimensional, mixed media, new media, and emerging artists).  An award will also be presented for “Best Interpretation of the Theme” (best in show).

Running concurrently all weekend are several fascinating displays and demonstrations. including the latest touring exhibit by the RipOff Artists. Well-respected professional artists Shannon Ford, Kindrie Grove, and Lynn Anderson will be exhibiting and demonstrating their talents throughout the weekend. A silent auction featuring select wines, antiques, and collectibles will tempt bidders.

On Saturday evening a light reception, accompanied by harpist Ingrid Schellenberg,  will entertain the audience waiting to hear the final results of the “Casting Shadows” competition. Come watch your favourites take home a prize!
