Shannon Ford shines at Oliver Art Gallery

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Acrylic artist Shannon Ford is featured at the Oliver Art Gallery this month until Sunday August 14. She is especially known for her bright colours and three-dimensional effects. Her subjects include equine art and depiction of aboriginal peoples. Her painting “Quiet Times in the Meadow” has been juried as a finalist in the Inglis Art Prize, an International Art Competition “Life at the Stud” and will be travelling to three cities in Australia.

She attended The Alberta College of Art, studying fine art, design, printmaking, sculpture and received her diploma in Metalsmithing in 1982. Twenty years later, in 2004, she chose once again to attend the Alberta College of Art and Design to receive her BFA.

The Oliver Arts Gallery is located at 34848 – 97th Street, Oliver half a block south of Town Hall.
