Naden Band plays Music in the Park

The Naden Band, Royal Canadian Navy roused the large audience to a standing ovation and encore after playing a wide-ranging repertoire on Thursday night. From classic military marches and Irish tunes like Danny Boy and Minstrel Boy, to Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky the band hit every mark. Surprise guests were “Undercurrent” playing two terrific jazz numbers. A lively N’Orleans jazz version of O When the Saints was a real crowd pleaser. The encore was, of course, Heart of Oak, the theme song of Royal Navies across the Commonwealth. Here it is played as background music to the slideshow. Turn it up! Thank you to the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy. Thank you also for your service on behalf of all Canadians.
